Andrea Jaramillo

Andrea is a certified forest therapy guide from the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy. She is also a bilingual holistic hospice nurse, urban farmer, space holder, ceremonialist, and beekeeper in training. As an immigrant from Ecuador, she is devoted to learning about life transitions (life, death, and the in-between) as well as rituals and medicines from Mesoamerica and South American traditions.

Forest Nurse was created to address the urgent need to restore our relationship with nature and self, which has been lost in today’s digitally saturated world. Witnessing and experiencing the toll this has taken on our mental and physical health, Andrea embarked on a healing and self-reflection journey. Through immersion in urban forests and urban farms, she discovered profound solace and restoration. She experienced being held by the land with utmost generosity and encountered restoration to her body, mind, and spirit unlike any other medicine. In reciprocity with the land and to offer this practice to her community, she decided to pursue certification as a forest therapy guide in 2021.

Combining her nursing expertise with the therapeutic power of nature, Andrea guides individuals through mindful immersion experiences, fostering self-reflection and connection. With inclusivity and accessibility as guiding principles, sessions can be conducted bilingually in English or Spanish, transcending cultural barriers to provide accessible wellness practices. As a nurse, Andrea brings a unique perspective to each session, integrating knowledge of the human body and mind to ensure safety and support, whether addressing physical limitations or offering emotional guidance.
